The wraparound model makes use of the family team to design a plan to ensure the child can reside safely and thrive in the community.

Wraparound focuses on normalization.  Moreover, the balance of decision making is shifted from the traditional realm of professionals to the family and community.

It strives to decrease families’ reliance on state run agencies and enhances the collaboration between service agency workers, the birth family, extended family, and the community.

Furthermore, this new model joins together multiple systems with the child, youth, and family to devise a highly individualized plan which will address complex emotional issues.
